We are happy that you have chosen to visit our site.  We are a group of biomedical researchers and clinicians at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who are working to improve methods for monitoring disease progression and responses to therapy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).  Our goal is to develop a safe, noninvasive, painless, and cost effective ultrasound imaging-based method that enables real-time measurement of muscle composition and structure so that potentially life-altering treatments may be clinically tested and given to DMD patients sooner.  While our current focus is DMD, the technology we are developing is relevant to the other 30+ forms of muscular dystrophy in children and adults.  You can learn more about our technology by clicking on the “DP ARF Ultrasound” link above.
